With a radius range from 6 to 16 m, STEB curved casting machines produce billets, blooms, beam blanks, slabs or round formats from 100 mm up to 1200 mm, in commercial and special steel grades.
Designed and manufactured in Italy, they offer a simple and compact solution conceived for a yearly productivity from 100.000 to 1.500.000 tons of commercial grades.
Casters can be designed for commercial grades with open casting solutions, or for SBQ special grades of carbon steel and stainless steel. SBQ machines (radius 9–16 m) are equipped with submerged stream casting and a full set of technological packages to achieve prime quality levels, including EMS stirrers in the mould and/or at the end of the solid steel cone.
STEB beam blank machines can cast multiple different sections simultaneously — for example billets or blooms together with beam blanks. Combined sections and rigid dummy-bars reduce the section-change time, giving customers the highest flexibility and quickness of reaction to changing market demands.
Casters can be equipped with de-burring rollers or carriage burr-removing systems, and with marking and labelling systems for billets and blooms.
STEB is specialized in retrofitting and revamping of existing casters, with competitive and minimal packages for modernization or new casting sizes. We can also design and supply vertical casters for big round / bloom sections or slabs.
